Caldey Island is cradled 3 miles off the Tenby coastline. It is one of Britain’s holy islands. The Cistsercian monks of Caldey continue a tradition which began there in Celtic times. More than a thousand years of prayer and quiet living have made this remote and beautiful island a haven of tranquility and peace. The monks and islanders of Caldey are pleased to welcome day visitors to share the delights of their island home throughout the Summer season. Boats run regularly throughout the day from Tenby South beach.
The stunning Pembrokeshire Coastal Path is 186 miles long and was voted the second best coastal destination in the World by National Geographic.
For nature lovers you should visit the islands of Skomer, Grassholm and Skokholm where you will see at close quarters puffins, guillemots, razorbills, short-eared owls, Manx shearwaters, and a host of other birds. Grey seals are in evidence all year round, while their white fur coated pups can be seen from late August. On Skomer you’ll encounter an extravaganza of sights, sounds and smells that is truly unforgettable.
